my pastor has someone who is taking his sermons and doing something with it. my pastor had this awesome idea that has never been done b4 and some one is using his sermons, and using his idea.......and my pastor is getting international connections...... what hes doing is that cool!!!! be he dont want someone to take his idea and run with it.......ya know.....whats weard is this person is taking my pastors voice on the sermon and doing the idea and is going to start selling it......and thats not good.....

snaglfritz, thats the point but you have it wrong.... this person that is steeling wants to make deals and sell the product....but my pastor wants to give the product away for free to teens.... and the person who stole the idea sayd i want your sermons but i dont want you to have a say in what im doing with your idea....pastor whats it to be free to the people and the other person wants to get rich.....and getting rich in the the perpose saving sole is the perpose!!!!!! the other person is taking the purity out of the project

yes, you can download and send it in to get a copyright. however, any original work as soon as it is created, is automtically copyrighted under us copyright protection laws. your pastor could actually obtain the services of an IP attorney and send a letter to the other person as having stolen original work. just because it is not filed with the USPTO, or the Library of Congress, does not mean that it is not already protected under law.

1. Apply to register the copyright of the sermons with the US copyright Office.

2. Get a lawyer to sue the person who is copying him for breach of copyright. You will need money and it is not worth suing if the other guy has no money.

Note: You cannot just copyright an idea or a thought. You need a specific document.

If you want to know how he can get a copyright, you just download an application from the US copyright office website, fill it out, and send it in with a copy of the sermons and a check (I think it's about $40 - he might be able to copyright a collection of them for one fee).

I find it sad a person that works for the Lord would worry about who uses their idea if it means saving a soul. :-(

anything u say or thing is automatically copyrighted. u cant really get a copyright, at least not to my knowledge.
