If you want to know the quality of the fabric before you buy something, here's a couple of ways to tell: (BTW these "tests" only work with knitted fabrics)

1. Don't let the store employees catch you doing this, but take one side of the shirt in each hand and pull it a little bit. Better Quality fabrics will shrink back to their original size. If you tug on the fabric and goes back slowly, or droops, that's good indicator that the garment may not last long or will lose its shape easily.

2. Take some of the fabric in your hand and rub it between your fingers for about a minute. If fibers come off onto your hand and/or the garment 'beads' or 'pills' it won't last through many washing before it begins to look worn.

Hey- I would definitely agree that for some extremely odd reasons, magical little holes suddenly appear in Hollister clothing. Like previously said in other entries, it all depends on what you buy. I would disagree with Old Navy having bad fabrics, but again, it all depends on what you bought. It is a little disappointing to see how poorly Hollister's fabrics are, but regardless of the holes or not, people pay for that little seagull. Hope this helps!

old navy is better than hollister. but I consider both brands to be "throw away" clothing. I generally only by the cheap tank tops and t-shirts from old navy and I buy new ones every couple seasons when they go on sale for like $5.

if I want quality I don't shop at either store.

Old Navy is okay... Their clothes are a lot nicer then Hollister though, they don't make you look as if you just bought your shirt to look cool.

If you want to see worser quality fabrics, take a peek at Aeropostale. I have to admit, they do have some cute clothes, but actually that store was my first "teen" store that I ever shopped at..

Old Navy, yes. Hollister, not as bad. I haven't had any problems with Hollister clothing other than it fits a little weird sometimes but otherwise, I like it.

To Princess, identifying to purchase at good purchase shops would not count quantity as quite identifying to purchase at Hollister because of the fact the clothing there are previous and final season and wayy extra value-effective than Hollister is. To the guy who asked this question, NO ae and previous military are no longer the comparable. previous military is quite much less costly and dumpy, and ae is plenty extra stylish and attractive. Hollister is astonishing. do no longer diss Hollister. Hollister, Ae, and Victorias secret are my favs.

I am dissapointed with hollister because one of my shirts ripped on the side. Just by feeling the fabric you can tell its not the best quality, but hey.....at least its in style!

I think it depends what you buy at Old Navy. Hollister however is horrible.

I agree with you. Most of the stuff I have gotten from both places usually fall apart within a few months after purchase. I have found better quaity clothing at thrift stores that last for years.
