Under the correct conditions enzymes can catalyze all kinds of chemical reactions within an organism. This, however, will only work if the enzyme is not inhibited by anything such as a coenzyme on a mission of its own. Coenzymes can be regenerated if it is too consumed by its reaction, which can be considered an advantage.
