Go to the housing office and list with them, they have a book that potential rental renters look at for homes to rent. Including a picture of the home is better for you, you will be flooded with potential renters. Section 8 is now called Housing Choice Voucher Program, and is one of the best ways to rent a property, it is guaranteed monthly money, you receive a check every month on the first of the month, in the mail. Best Wishes and Happy Renting! A great way to make tons of money!

You have to be approved by the city or county in which you reside and and which handles the section 8 program.

You should call your city housing office first to see if they handle their own section 8 program.

If they do then tell them to mail you the necessary forms and requirements for your property to become a section 8 property.

If your city don't handle it ask which governmental agency in your county does handle section 8.

You will be required to put your property is certain condition, which will be inspected to make sure it is at the level that section 8 require. If you fail the first time, don't worry you will be allowed to correct any problem and be re-inspected.

The requirements are not all that strict as they are basic things you would do for a rental property any way.

Section 8 is a good program, and as with anything you should insure that you renters are checked out to your satisfaction.

As with any prospective renter, I make an unannounced excuse to go by their present home and see how they take care of that property before allowing them to rent from me. The neighborhood in which they are currently renting in shold not be a criteria, you are looking at how they take care of the present house/apt/condo in which they are currently residing.

I tell them I need a document signed or want to go over something on the credit report and I wanted to do it ASAP is the reason for the visit. I also see if I can use the bath so I can get inside the house.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

You have to speak to a representative from your county housing and urban development board. They can give you the procedures for applying to have your house listed as a section 8 home. It is an application process.

I recommend buying The Section 8 Bible. Has tons of great advice from career Section 8 owners.
