I have 8 neon tetra 8 african dwarf frogs. 2 pahtom tetra 2 sperate tetra. 1 female betta, 2 platies 1 male guppy, and 2 corydores Do you think i can add a couple more or should I leave what i have. I know the 1 inch rule and I also know that you should have more than 2 corydora and more than 2 of the pahtom tetra and sperate tetra But there doing fine as is. Also i did have more than one male guppy but They never lived so i dont want any more guppys this one I have must be happy he keeps on swimming. I also was told Sperate tetra and phantoms wouldnt get a long but there do not fight they actully swim together. My Tank is doing really good with the fish i have in it. I can't affore another tank But was thinking i could put another 1or 2 fish in this tank. I have a really good heater and filter. What you think?

There is noting wrong with haveing so many frogs and they are very healthy and I highly suggest any one who is looking for something differnt in there tank to get a few. They are a very hardy frogs and very active and fun to watch. I would have more. But that I know i dont want to add any more to bottom of my tank. I have had mine for a long time in with my fish.
Thanks all for your answers

One thought... if it's not broken, why fix it? You said your tank is doing well. Any fish you add risks bringing in diseases or upsetting the balance that exists in the tank.
You could add another cory or two, or even a few more phantoms, but you need to think about it... is it worth it when the tank is doing so well?

First off, the phantom tetra is kind of an oddball: it will school with other tetras about the same size so it will definitely school with your serpae (is that what you're referring to as sperate?) tetras. You have a good school of neons. LOTS of frogs (why so many?). The platies, guppy and betta are also fine.
I would definitely add at least 2 more corys to the tank. When you say you have a good filter....you should have one for about 40 gallons to 55 gallons. Only because you wish to overstock.
Luckily none of the fish are heavy waste producers.
I would probably also add one more of each of the serpae and phantom to let them school in a group of 6.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the frogs. They're fragile and can cause an illness to run rampant through the tank in those numbers. If you're having no problems feeding them and your temp is good and the water is clean though...I don't see why not.
Just make sure you do NOT add anything heavy: cichlid, goldfish (and it's not tropical!) or pleco.

You don't have an overstocking problem. That 1 inch rule is a joke, you need to worry about the aggregate mass of the fish in your tank...all of your fish have very little mass and produce little metobolic waste. If you stay with tetras and corys and such, you'll be fine to add more. Just remember to change about 25% (give or take) of your water every month.. or better yet 10% every two weeks.
Enjoy!!

i think you could add a lot -- what did you want to add? i would do a couple more corys if nothing definitely. your neons really count as 1/2 a fish if you are adding inches. i am not sure where a frog would fit on the inch scale and that is really where any concern with adding more would come in. i think you would be fine with 2 more corys, 2 more sarpaes and 2 more phantoms though.

I actually have two full time filters on my 29 gallon (as opposed to one large one) as the other one will help in the event one of them fails, which they all eventually do. This is critical especially if you have a lot of fish, such as you do.
If you just set up your tank, let them adjust and grow for a couple weeks before you think of adding more.
I would recommend an NH2 sensor on the side of your tank but it would be a must for someone with lots of fish.
They cost about $15 and come with several refills. Each refill lasts about a month or more.
Good luck!

well....
Your current stocking list is:
8 NT
8 African dwarfs
2 Pt
2ST
1 Betta
2 Platies
1guppy
and 2 cories
If i was you I would try to get rid of the frogs, but that is my personal opinion
I would get 1 more corydora
2 phantoms and 2 serpaes
I sure Hope This will help out with your decision=]

I think the amount of fish you have in the tank now is plenty. You dont want to over crowd it then you'll have water quality problems and have to do more frequent water changes.

see copperhead's answer.. the main distinction is proportions of the tank.. as reported the 30 gallon is extra effectual for better issues or ones that desire extra room.. no longer basically because of the fact it incredibly is a gallon better

you are way over the limit for your tank, but if its doing fine, i would leave well enough alone, until you can afford a larger tank
