Visit http://www.craigslist.com and look for auditions for student fiilms. There's no money it but, if you get work, you'll have something to put on your resume. After a couple of roles, look for respresentation.

You need to go in for auditions. Some movies have open castings.
I have almost been in movies too many times haha, all by accident... just by discoveries. Most recently, some Will Ferrell movie.. but in the past I was almost in The Mummy and a few others... I could be in the new Mummy movie if I really wanted to.
Just go to LA, it's not hard to be 'discovered'... you'd have to show up for auditions. It's good to work as an 'extra' just to see what it's like before committing. It's actually not hard at ALL (maybe for me, since I've had the chance but I don't think it is)
