I think that the level of sex ed is what concerns me. I've been out of school for 12 years, so it's been 14 since I had a public ed sex ed class. I have no objection to what we were taught back then, but what I hear coming out recently is appalling. I hear they are encouraging kids to experiment with all sorts of sex, masturbation, homosexual, etc. I am 100% against that kind of "education." Teaching about the consequences and making it real seems more useful.
The problem is so much bigger than sex ed in school. Every tv show and movie these kids are watching tells them to have sex as soon as possible or they're a loser. As long as the media continues to blast no-consequence fornication, I don't know how we can expect the kids to be smart. Our society is so sexualized, they are stimulated when they aren't ready to satisfy that urge. And they're not mature enough to practice self control over their urges.
I am in favor of teaching the consequences, and that abstinence is the ONLY 100% effective way to prevent them.

I am very anti abortion, and do believe in educating people about contraception, because unfortunately abortion has become a form of contraception. It is absolutely tragic that someone can take a pill and abort without even thinking about it. abstinence only, is not the answer, and I really do not believe that there are too many people supporting that.
Its like the doctor telling a woman the best birth control is an aspirin, and she says an aspirin?. yes says the doctor, just put it between your knees, and hold it there!!

I am neither pro aborotion nor pro life..I am pro choice...meaning I believei nthe personal freedom to make the descion to have a medical procedure. But I certinly agree with you here about contrception education. There have bee nstudies I believe in New Hampshire or Vermont where course focused on abstinence actaully had higher rates of teen age pregnacy versus ones that focused on contraception as well as abstinence. I don't like aborotions either, but I do believe in the freedom of making a choice.

Sure there's a place for sex ed. Going on right now within the system.
I do think there is more they can do with both of sex ed and abstinence teaching. After watching a commercial on genital herpes on TV, doesn't look like either one is effective.
Or is our society "climatized" to sexual transmitted diseases?

I also question why they are not in favor of health care reform. We are 21st in the world in terms of infant mortality. You can't keep a baby alive in the womb only to kill it through lack of access to adequate health care.

Abortion must not be allowed because it is killing an unborn child. Life must be respected and should not be stopped.
