good question........i have thought long and hard about this one.....what about the morgue after they drain a body of blood.......and it goes down the drain back to the water treatment plant.....

Per an episode of The X Files, the stuff that is removed in the operating room gets ground up, sanitized and used for road filler for pot holes and stuff.

It's called Biohazardous waste and it gets incerated at a very High Temperature.

I used to work in a hospital. They put those body parts in a large furnace.

it is packaged in red bio-hazard bags and picked up by a company that incinerates it. it doesn't get in the water supply if it is disposed of right in the first place.

actually, most of that stuff gets sent to a pathology lab, or it gets picked up and taken to an incinerator, so none of it makes it into our water
