Who thinks U.S. involvement in Vietnam was a good idea?

I wasn't alive during those times. I think schools today are overly critical on it, overemphasizing the lack of support of the war instead of trying to figure alternative ways to handle that situation.

The Vietnam was I think was warranted. Certainly, the fall of South Vietnam and the "domino" effect of the rise in communism in the area that brought the death of millions (and I'm particularly thinking of Cambodia under Pol Pot) demonstrates there was a need. Militarily, we were winning the battles. Had the politics and media not undermined the effort, things probably would have been quite different today.

Our initial intentions were admirable and certainly in America's and South Viet Nam's best interests.

Funny how the left relishes in the thought that their anti-war rhetoric brought the troops home - but always fail to mention the disastrous aftermath of their cut and run policy of defeat.

The part where Kennedy seems to escape blame is the part tha gets to me. That along with the fact LBJ's wife owned the company supplying bridges and makeoing a premium profit off each one built and torn down.

They should be critical of MY war. It was stupid. We actually thought we were the good guys back then.
This war is for fools and EVIL people.

We vets did not get dis'ed when we returned. NEVER was 1 VN vet spit on. thats just spit lies. Pure propaganda.

but Vets in this war? who have signed in the last year are just brainwashed loser fools. We goona have to support them for the rest of their unnatual lives now because they gonnna figure the truth when they get back!
