If I am buying something for $181.96, what is my tax?

The tax rate in my state is 6 cents per dollar.

depends on where you live and the current state tax rate
- going off of the second bit of information you provided;
if the final price you pay is 181.96, then the tax would be 10.30 since the initial price would have been 171.66... if the initial price is the 181.96 as stated, then the tax would be 10.92 giving a final price of 192.88

obviously you aren't very good at math. in order to figure out the tax for a purchased item, you need to know the tax rate for sales tax in your area. for example, an 8% sales tax . . . we can't figure it out without the tax rate . . . sorry . . .

It depends on what the amount of tax is. Say the amount of tax is 10%. Take 10% of 181.96, which is $18.20. Then add 181.96 and 18.20 to get your final answer:
181.96+18.20= $200.16.

You multiply 181.96 by amount of tax.If its 8%-=14.55 If your tax is 10%=!8.19 and so on.
