I can't seem to find anything that says firewire in the documentation. I asked Dell in an email and they were no help? What do I look for--does it have another name? I need a firewire port to hook up my Canon Video cam to my computer to use pnnacle video editing for my son.Helllp!!!!!

Thanks!

there are two types, the 4 pin and the 6 pin.
the other name for it is ieee 1394 (something like that)
the 6 pin is a little bigger than a usb port and the 4 pin is smaller than a usb port (a lot)
if it does not have the port, you can also buy adapters for extra ports, that is what I did, needed 3 firewires ports.
good luck

Fire wire is mainly in Mac’s in place of USB 2.0 so chances are you don’t.

But go to wiki look it up and search your computer for an identical port. The big port similar to a USB is called type A.

The port would have 1394 under it or next to it.

According to this site:

Your model doesn't come with firewire ports.
