Coming here from 3 months abroad the first thing I noticed is how angry all people seem to be in the USA.

Have we become a nation sick with hatred? Why?

Wow ...!!!!!

after just three months ....!!!!

but wait a sec ... you mean .. you think it wasn't that bad before ..????

and are you implying that things are better abroad ?? -- that would be good to hear .

thats a pretty strong statement ..

...." a nation ... sick with hatred ... " !!!!!!!!!

hatred for whom ...

hatred for what ...

hatred against whom or what

at least we know WHO is on first base and who knows where or what TOMMORROW will be / bring !!!!...aahhh for the days of abbott and costello ...

many of the other responses are good....

psychologists with a person displaying these same symptoms .. would be asking .. why does this person feel and act this way .. what are the reasons for this behaviour ??

similarly.. we could ask .. why do americans hate .....

what brings forth these feelings of hatred and anger and frustration ????

could it be a feeling of impotence .. an inferiority complex.. .. an inborn genetic reflex......a trait common to all humans .. that no matter what we do and no matter how much we evvole .. we will always be basically .. descended from animals .. with a return to animalistic behaviour whenever we feel threatened or hurt or frustrated ????

OR .. are you implying that other nations / peoples are not as consumed with hatred as much as americans are ...

that would be pretty sad ... ...

I hope for all our sakes .. that this feeling of hatred dissapates and disappears .. and leads to a more friendly .... caring and compassionate society ..

oooh NNNOOO .... strike that last bit about caring and compassionate .. that's the platform that the curent admin ran on .. and look at what they have given us ...>!!!.^$^$&&%&*

as a matter of fact with this present " caring and compassionate " govt we seem to have reached a pinnacle of hatred in american society

AAHHHAAA ... there it is

i have it

this current republican govt has fostered a climate and feeling of hatred in america for america and by america......

now, with them at the helm

we have become

as in your words

A NATION SICK WITH HATRED

how sad ....................................

.................................................................................

No, the USA is not sick with hatred. You, on the other hand, seem to have a pretty immense hatred for 'rednecks' and 'repukes' from looking at your questions (even when you were 'abroad').

I see a lot of hatred on answers, generally but not always from the extreme left. In real life, where I live, people treat each other civilly. But I live in a smaller town. I think people who hate are sick people and I don't care to be around them at all.

I think so - I know I'm sick from it. When you hate, you make yourself smaller. But I'm hating more and more people all the time - Bush, Pelosi, the illegal aliens, etc., and it seems to be growing, like a malignant cancer. Plus, I'm in school, and I'm hating that. I also hate the friends who don't call, and I hate them more when they do, and I have to hear about the stuff they hate. No wonder the Chinese are poisoning our dogs!

It's a division that has been brewing over the last 16 years since partisan politics became the norm in Washington

America if full of different races, colors, religions and that makes people hate each others.
Australia does not have this problems as they are very selective who they allow in to the country.

Because the political love the division.....if they can keep us arguing amongst ourselves...nobody notices how incompetent the federal legislature, courts, whhite house and beuracracies are.

They are making fools of us all

Perhaps not so much "hatred" as intolerance for diversity, which is bizarre, because America is a melting pot of many cultures.

We have many hypocrites who enjoy the food and music (and feminine beauty) of several cultures, but they whine incessantly about things like immigration and welfare, and "learning the language."

I say, unless you're a direct descendant of a Native American, shut up. Most of our grandparents came over on the boat...

Yes, I would have to say we are. We are a bitter nation, I think it's because people have their morals all mixed up and have lost half the values they really need to have.
