Rudy is a "liberal" Republican on social issues such as abortion. All I can say is I heard him clearly say on the "Hannity" radio show last week was that he believes in a woman's right to choose [an abortion], but he also wants them to be few, and that he worked toward that as Mayor of New York. He stated that adoptions increased 135% while he was mayor. We also know that he has stated that he will appoint judges that interpret Constitution in the likes of Roberts and Alito, not invent law or use non-Constitutional laws such as international law, etc.

Will he stay the front runner? It will be interesting to see if Fred Thompson really does announce in a month. Considering he's not running, he's been doing well in polls.

Because not all Republicans are that concerned with abortion. I am a registered Republican but my personal belief is more libertarian. I am more concerned with fiscal matters. So Rudy is a candidate I am seriously considering.

On the abortion issue, I would be against any politician who wanted to act like a 3 week fetus was the same as a full term fetus. I am against laws banning early abortions, but am in favor of a partial-birth-abortion ban.

And I want a strong candidate concerning foriegn issues.

Growup, he no more wants women to have an abortion than most conservatives do. But he's a realist. If your going to have an abortion it should be done by a professional in a safe and steril environment not a back alley.

No body "wants" to kill babies.
Don't be a hater.

He is the front runner because more people than not believe his overall platform is one they support--overall platform. There are always issues of individual differences.

It appears that you clump all of us Republicans together just like many of us clump the Liberals together. I say Liberals only because the Dems are a party that is no longer recognizable.

Many of us are not against abortion
There are many Republicans who are atheists

Like you, we're a diverse group.

I can only guess that you are a pro abortion person that feels guilty or irritated at people saying you are in favor of killing babies. He is not in favor of abortion, just not making it illegal in all cases.

You weren't in NYC after 9/11 when he was walking around the pile of debris at Ground Zero. I was and being a fellow Italian and fellow New Yorker...its the media trying to discredit him. Yes, I'm pro-choice as well...does that make me a baby killer????

Rudy just doesn't think the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should be involved... that's the problem w/our government it's TOO involved in things it wasn't created to be involved in, the STATES and local communities should regulate abortion, not the federal government.
