i think most of the drama occurs around Brutus. he has the inner conflict of whether he wants to kill his friend, after he murders Caesar, he has to deal with the guilt [Caesar coming back to haunt him while he's in the tent] and he ends up committing suicide because he feels he has been defeated.

He was the tragic hero.
