I am thinking that if I can get a 7300 GT/GS TurboCache, and then disable TurboChache and overclock it. Also I am wondering. The pos i have in here now, the 6150 LE is running at 450/475 mhz. Why so high? like the 7300's are at the same clock speed. I am getting this card because I only have a 300 watt PSU, live in canada so the cards cost $75-$90 bucks and thats all i have right now.

Oh and I might upgrade to an LCD that is going to run at 1280x1024. I don't really play games that are the greatest and best. I play source and GTA, maybe F.E.A.R and w/e else also. i don't turn on Anti-Aliasing and Antiascopric stuff.

Yes, it should do pretty good at running games at that resolution but you are going to be stuck with DirectX 9 games.

The nVidia 8000 series of cards if you can afford it, may be a better solution for you if you have PCIe slots and not AGP.

The 7300 is slightly ahead of the 6800 Ultra card which is what I currently have now and my 6800 Ultra runs all games at 1024x768.

Read below to learn a little about graphics cards-

I hope this helps!

A card of that stature will probably run most games out now at 1024x768 but depending on the game you may have to turn some bells and whistles like AntiAliasing down or off to get a playable frame rate. Also keep in mind that there is a slow transition occurring to DirectX10 that anything below an 8800 won't support.

I would recommend saving your money and waiting till a DirectX10 card enters closer to your price range.

Also its always a good idea to search for the model number you are looking at to find reviews online from gaming sites. They generally pit several cards against each other on various games to see how they perform. I always check this out before making a big purchase like that.

Ya, an 7300 GS is good enough for games in 1024x768 in maybe games from 2 years ago. For modern games you really have to step up to an 7600 to play decently in 1024x768 resolution. If your overclocking I'm pretty sure you can get maybe the performance of an 7400, and 300 watts is plenty for overclocking the 7300.

I just put a 7300GT on my kids pc and its alot better than I expected. it runs WOW awesome. All the older games look great. BF2 looks fantastic. Thats probably the toughest game we have graphic wise.

The clock speed is similar to your 6150 but it has more pixel pipelines and 3.0 shaders. Mine has a passive cooler and runs a little warm at factory settings so be sure you have plenty of cooling before you overclock.

i'm unlikely to offer you the main focused answer, I actually have a 9600GTX, that's exceptionally stable. you incredibly do no longer want the main wonderful photos card, risk is your no longer working 1920x1200p video games, i could say my photos card could be sufficient for many gamers, as an occasion, call of accountability 4 could be exceptionally stable high quality, however the severe decision video games may well be stricken by lesser physique expenditures. there's a clean photos card ever hour presently, risk is you do no longer want them, what video games do you prefer to play? i could be somewhat fascinated. Oh, and that memory is shared memory, no longer the photos taking part in cards memory.

7300GT ddr3 would be best. The LE is slow, GS is somewhat better.
