wow. hakeem's best two years, 1993-94 and 1994-95, which were both title years, he was about as good as they come. I remember whichever year D Robinson won the MVP, think it was the '95 playoffs, when hakeem tore him several new ones in the conference finals. The whole hakeem assault was used, dream shake, some dropstep stuff, shotblocks, boards and wins
If I could take the best two years of either player, it would be those. Based on the entire career though, I'd have to go with the fundamental despite their being no fun about it. Except winning is fun.

Hakeem was a great center, but Duncan is the better overall player.

Good question. I think Hakeem's offense is just a little better(pump fake) and would just beat out Duncan.

i think hakeem is better than duncan. Olajuwon is more athletic and has better footwork and the better defensive player than Duncan. ( In 1989, Olajuwon had 282 blocks and 218 steals, becoming the only NBA player to record over 200 blocks and 200 steals in a season.)
his dream shake is one of the best and unstoppable low-post moves in history along with kareem's sky-hook and kevin mchale's drop-step/up and under move.
as for Tim Duncan, just one of the most fundamentally sound player of all-time....no highlights whatsoever. just plain winner!

Wow..rough question.
They are so similar...great defense, consistent offense, could both pass very well for big guys.
But since the question is "who IS better"...you have to go with Duncan, because Hakeem is like 40-something now.
:D

Hakeem. He wasn't really surrounded by good players for a long time.
