You have hit it right on the head! It really doesn't matter who you vote for because they are going to stick to what got them there. No not the people, but the businesses. Being in politics is a dog eats dog type of world. They will smile at you while they are cutting into your wallet. That doesn't mean that they are all bad people, it just means that they have agenda's that they have followed and will continue to follow until they quit running for office.

Not necessarily but this is often the case.

Voters need to get more involved. Currently, the extreme ends of the spectrum get the candidates elected in the primaries so the moderates are stuck with 2 bozos to pick from for Prez.

If more people investegated a candidate & voted for the one closest to their views IN THE PRIMARIES we'd have better choices come November '08.

* VOTE IN THE PRIMARIES *

There's a difference in the method but the outcome is the same. The leftist take from everyone and dole out to their supporters. First they take your money, then your freedom and finally your life. The conservatives, do in indirectly. Trading sale taxes and tariffs for income taxes. Then they dole out the money to their supporters. They also indirectly attack your freedom by simply limiting your choices to the ones they approve. The founders of the U.S. new this well. Thats why they set up a system of limited government to prevent this thief. But Lincoln subverted the limited government and used the Civil war to set up an uber alles Federal government. For which we have suffered every since.

In the United States, both major parties are "business friendly" in that they typically support free market operations. Compared to other systems where party politics are sharply divided down economic philosophy, the USA is far more homogeneous. The battles are usually formed around social issues but rarley do the the economic discussions go far left. No party wants to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

It certainly seems that way. The Onion, a parody newspaper, published an article that said "Politicians sweep election" that was very funny.

What I'm trying to say that anyone who runs for president is a certain type of person - a politician, a person who's power-hungry.

I don't think what you say is completely true, but it's more so than I'd like.

Your English is perfect - better than most native speakers :-)
