I am taking my 87 yr old mom and her sister who is 90 out for lunch/ dinner and would like to go to someplace in Manhattan Beach, California where we can see the ocean from our table. I thought of the Kettle, but it isn't right next to the water. Any ideas? (we have been to Redondo Beach) Thanks alot.

Beaches is a restaurant in Manhattan Beach that overlooks the water. It's at the very end of Manhattan Beach Blvd. Ask for a table near the window. Have fun!

No restaurant in Mcb looks at the water directly except the Sunsets Bar (by Diane's) (there are some on the Hermosa Pier however). But MBch has some new restaurants in the Metlox shopping plaza. Manhattan Beach Brewing Co., Mangiamo and Rockin Fish are close to the ocean, on Manhattan Beach Blvd. Avenue and Towne are on Manhattan Ave, Shade Hotel (in Metlox) has an outdoor patio and serves big bar snacks and overlooks the Metlox patio and has an ocean slice. For a more casual lunch with (true) an ocean view--try Uncle Bills & Ocean View Cafe (lunch only and outside) on Highland & 12ish or so. Also, Corkscrew cafe for sandwiches at Highland & Marine. Sounds like a great day out; but take sweaters it has been cold down here lately!
