So I am coming up with a decision and would like your help.
My sis lives in Indy and I live in Ca. I have four kids, married and am the sole bread winner out here. We have no assets( real estate ) anymore and are considering moving to Indiana to live in a much slower paced life and to be able to afford to purchase a home and break our backs doing so. My career is real estate, I am an agent and yes have my license out here and Indy.. in comparison would my life be "better" moving out to a less of a hassle, slower paced style life or is it a wash when it comes to selling high priced homes... high commission...selling lower priced homes... lower commission. So my question finally is which would you people go or even stay for financial stability.. culture adaptation, religion... all this to take into effect.... oh yeah we're catholic, hispanic/polynesian, and again four kids .. three in elementary school and one in pre-school.. thank you for your help.

A slower pace of life might be nice for you, but not for your kids.
Meth is a huge problem in Middle America because kids are just simply bored.

I live north of indy, and i wouldn't ever move there. only because lately there has been so much violence and murders going on there.
But i am sure there is a lot of that in cali too?
Indiana is a boring state not much in the way of jobs. My mom is a realtor and she makes alright money doing it, just depends on how good you are. in indy/ carmel area where there are those nice big expensive houses you could make a good commission off of those.
The schools are alright, don't know to much about them cept a friend that went said they were okay.
There are a lot of hispanics and blacks in indy so i don't think there would be aproblem there. there are a lot of catholic churches and i know a lot of my friends who are mexican that live down there seem to like it?
hope this helps :)
oh yeah and no offense to anyone but the people in indiana are really stuck up and snobs!
i have lived many different places and indiana is the worst for that

I've lived in Indiana for most of my life. Being an Army brat I've lived in other places as well. Indiana is full of rednecks, but the larger cities, such as Indi and Bloomington are not as bad. Indi has more job opportunities, more shopping, etc. Greenwood is very nice and very close to Indi, you might want to check out real estate there. I'd definitely say that commission in California would be much much higher. Good luck, and if you decide to move to Indiana, then welcome to the Hoosier State!

I love it in Indiana! I live in Central Indiana right outside of Indianapolis. It is not as horrible as people make it out to be, trust me, I moved here from New Mexico almost 3 years ago and Im not going back!

The cultural diversity here is awesome. In the past few years alot of hispanics have moved here.

As for school, I have homeschooled for years so I cant help you there. I dont think they are all that bad considering they arent good anywhere anymore- once again- its what you make out of it.

I love it here, its green, fresh, has hot and cool days, and just an awesome place to raise a family. I have 3 kids- ages 9-15.

The homes vary in price- some high priced ones- some lower. I think anyone can make a living here. Its just a matter of wanting to.

We have never been happier is all I know.

I spent five years in Southern California and three in northern Indiana. California wins by a landslide. It was more laid back, better weather, friendlier people, more culture, more diversity, more opportunity. Indiana was too white bread, imitation vanilla for my taste. I didn't feel like it was slower paced so much as I felt like it dragged on mercilessly towards absolutely nothing. After three years I had to get the hell out of there.

Whatever you decide, I hope it works out and you're happy.

I love to advise you on this one. I am "65" years old a California licensed Real Estate broker for "34" years. If i was younger with no children I would get out of California. But surely if i had children i would leave here, Get your children and run now. Do it for your children. low price homes and Low commission will save your children. if you do it right you will make enough money to take care of your family. Good Luck.

honestly Texas. Yao, Duncan and Dirk could thoroughly dominate the Cali front court docket. The heritage could additionally carry it fairly is own against Kobe and Davis. to no longer point out that Bowen and Battier could positioned on down Kobe besides. yet whilst this have been to grow to be a sequence, i could say Texas in 5 or 6. Cuz definitely, the front court docket is merely too sturdy. Yao and Duncan could administration the paint offensively and defensively after which you have Dirk. too a lot.

I'd move. I live in California and I can't stand it anymore. It's expensive, totally congested, crowded, schools are some of the worst in the nation, and even the weather isn't so great.
I can't wait to move, and have a better quality of life in a community.
