do you mean x^2=4, becasue then the answer is 2

This isn't an equation, so there is nothing to "solve". If you're trying to factor this, then you could factor it into (x+2)(x-2)

in this case you look for the square root of each and you mut it each square root in bracket and use between plus of minus for each bracket.
your answer is (x+2)(x-2)

Are you given zero on the right side followed by equal sign?

i mean, is the question x^2- 4 = 0 ?
