lol. Very funny. But I suggest you don't go putting plots on here, someone might steal it and publish it, when it was your idea.

Sounds good, assuming that the goal is to teach children about individuality, and not to be jealous. e.g.: apples may be popular, but what is not obvious is the troubles that an apple has to go through. The apple may look good from a distance until the tomato realizes the downfalls of being an apple.
I hope that makes sense, and that was your general intention.
Good Luck.

it's a cute Idea.. Would make a cute board book for the 0-3 years old group of very early readers.
I can picture it with very colourful pictures and tomatos and apples with big plump cheeks.
And you could make it a "in the end I end up loving myself just the way I am because I'm special"... like a cucumber could come along and remind it about being in spaghetti or ketchup (which all kids like)
Good luck with your book.

Haaaa..You should have the tomato join a garden gang and only allow red fruits and or veggies...Then a Mean spirited Grape should come along and "diss" the Tomato Gang,so that we can have a real life lesson for our kiddie readers....OMGLOL!!
Its just an idea you can work on....

A cute, cute idea BUT (so sorry) there is a children's series called Vegie Tales that could just stall your idea and one of the main characters is a tomato.

It sounds like a good idea for a children's book, however, I would start working on your spelling and grammar before you pursue such an endeavour as writing a book for kids if I were you.

It is certainly unusual.
Very unusual.
What if I told you that I loved tomatoes but loathed apples? Or maybe I loved both. They are both red, both good for you, both in the story you are writing...

Sounds cute. Now all you need to do is write it, revise it, and send it off. Good luck!

Honestly, I was expecting something unoriginal or trite. That's actually quite good.
