They usually do a CBC before and at the follow-up
appointment. Also, chest X-rays and other stuff to make sure you can go through the surgery.

I had a salpingo-oophorectomy ( removal of ovary and tube)done and they did all kinds of tests before I had my surgery. You should ask your OB/GYN about all the tests and ask questions about everything if you are not familiar with the terms they use. I was kind of in a shock so I didn't pay any attention and they tied my good tube during the surgery and now I can't have anymore kids. It really devastated me for years.
