My son is 14 months old and he says "uh oh" and we think he is trying to say "that" when he points at something to ask us what it is. Our doctor told us that by 12 months most toddlers can say "mama" and "dada". Not ours, yet. She also said that boys tend to develop language a little later than girls do. His language will come along soon enough and once it does, it will flourish, that's what we discovered with our first son anyway.

Every kid is different. My 24 month old didn't say her first word until she was a year and half and everyone voiced thier concerns to me before then , like as if I didn't know. It is normal not to have clear words at one years old.

At 6 months my daughter was saying "Hey, Yeah, Daddy, and Ok." My friend's daughter is 2 weeks older and she wasn't saying anything at that age. It really depends on the individual child.

my son at 7 months could say "mih" for milk and mama and dada. now he is 9 months and says that plus mo for more, hey, buh bye, mow mow for cat and baaaall for ball lol. but kids all develop differently, I think my son is pretty young to be saying that much so I don't think you should be that worried.
