im about 5'7", 125 lbs. my throwing could use some work, it doesn't always spiral but it goes an okay distance. catching skills are decent, i can tackle, but i cant hit very well (or whatever you call it when you try to knock the person over at the scrimage line.) obviously my comprehension of the sport in general is barely there ;] arm strength is on the weaker side of pathetic, but strong legs and abs. im a good runner. pretty fast (though there are faster!) but can go a while w/o spazzing. i just want to know what i could tell the coach i might be able to play? THANKS A TONNN!

Long Snapper, can't get hit on a punt attempt and don't have to be big. Just practice practice practice and you will be good at it.

Can you kick? Any soccer experience? Kicker or punter could work. Possibly long snapper since they usually do not get hit on the play. Also, that thing "when you try to knock the person down at the scrimage line" is called "blocking". That takes a lot of arm strength and balance. If you still aren't sure, just ask the coach where he thinks you can play based on your abilities.

I think that's sexist. My school has neither, but and many other girls REALLY want to play football. We are thinking of petitioning for it. Really seriously, they have a guys volleyball team in the OLYMPICS for crying out loud. Guys are pretty good to. My team and I played them for fun (we won) but they have some potential.

Based on your own description of your abilities you shouldnt be playing football at all. It sounds like softball or baseball would be a better fit for you but if you do decide to play then you should be long snapper or kicker (kick-offs). Either way, a time would come when you have to stick another player.

dont be a kicker. kicker sucks and is really boring you figure your only gonna kick a ball a coiuple of times a game. i played jr. high school football. it was so much fun. the coach was great and the guys were hot (and really cool too). i played a safety. a safety is the last line of defense. i worked great i gained soo much more respect because i was fast and could tackled really well. it was the most enjoyable jr. high school moment of my life. so for you i would suggest safety. you dont have to be able to throw or memorize confusing plays with all the X's and O's. lol. you have to have a good attitude and be fast.

Why would you want to do that? Why don't you organize a girl's team instead.
I remember in my school a girl did that. The guys pummeled her all the time until she finally started to cry and quit.
She organized a girl's team instead and worked out better.

You don't sound like much of a jock, so I really don't know why you'd want to. But if you do, learn to kick and go for kicker.
