some people will abort a baby because its handicapped in some way... didn't Hitler do that to? Abortion is murder. You might say,
the baby is not living yet... but if your mother aborted you,
you would not be here today. gone. dead.

if you disagree please tell and explain!

I'm not for my self. I feel that since we were given free will, then it is up to each person to decide for them self. We are not to judge others and what they do for them self, as that is their choice to make for them self.

That is why we were given free will.

I won't sit in judgment of any one who has an abortion, since it isn't my life so then it isn't for me to decide what is right for others to do. That is a choice for them to make for them self, it isn't mine to make for them. I can not force my will upon any one else.

Weather it is with faith/abortion or any thing else. We must let others decided that for them selves, what is right for them to do.

Absolutely I am.

I do not care that my mother might have aborted me,in fact she told me if abortion had been legal back then, she might have. I WOULD NEVER BE HERE TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!!!

Abortion has existd for all of human existence. It was here long long before Hitler and will be here for a long time to come.

I could play word games like an acorn is not an oak tree, so a fetus is not a human, but to be honest, I don't care what you call it. Call an unfertilized egg a human if you want. I still say, if a woman gets pregnant, it's her business. Society has no stake in the matter.

There are 120,000 children waiting to be adopted each year. So if that woman decides not to keep the baby but not to abort it either, does it really have a great life to look forward to? Maybe maybe not. Have you spent 18 years in state housing?

If people are so eager to stop abortions, then make sure that every born baby is wanted. If all the churches in america got together to find 120,000 families out of the 350 million people in the US to adopt those remaining children, then I would be impressed.

In Africa, the !Kung tribe has a way to deal with too many babies. if a mother already has 4 or 5 children and gets pregnant again, she sometimes will go out into the bush, have her baby in a hole in the ground and walk away. if you were there and saw that, would you run up and try to save that baby? What if you saw 5 women do it in a week? What if you saw 10? When would you realize that it's none of your business?

this is a good question, I am pro-choice but I can tell you I would personally NEVER have an abortion. I am the mother of two kids with my 3rd on the way. With that said I also don't feel that I or anyone else can restrict the choices of other women. The sad truth is that most of those people who claim to be pro-life are in fact only pro-birth because they don't have any programs or support to those Moms after the baby is born. For example one of my best friends got pregnant with her 4th child when her youngest was less than a year old. She is happily married and her and her husband made the decision to terminate the pregnancy. If she had countinued would anyone have been there to provide the day care cost etc.. No, the reason she made that choice was for the betterment of her other 3 children, she did'nt want to strain the family anymore than it already was. Now, do I agree? Would I have made the same choice? No but does that mean that she should not have had that choice. She did have her tubes tied right after so she would never had to make a choice like that again. I don't like abotrtion I think it is awful, I think the focus should be on prevention!

Yes, if my mother had aborted me I would not be here today. But if abortion was illegal and my mother was a drugged out, unemployed crack addict...I might have had a very horrible (and possibly, quite short) life.
I am pro-choice because I believe

1) science tells us that life does not begin at the moment of conception. Any beliefs to the contrary stem from a religious belief, and therefore have no business becoming the basis for any laws

2) I believe the effects of outlawing abortion would be disastrous. We wouldn't get rid of abortion, we'd just see a lot more women risking their lives for crappy illegal abortions from people who may or may not be have any medical knowledge. We'd also see a lot more people being born into poverty, which of course, would lead to much higher crime rate.

3) Given that for some time after conception the fetus is not alive, the rights of the woman (who clearly is alive) take precedent. And she has the right make decisions regarding her own body.

4) Most unwanted children in the world are not adopted.

there are many more reasons, but in the interest of keeping this brief, I'll stop there.

Under Hitler, the state made life-death decisions without consent of the people.

Abortion is not murder, because there is not yet another life involved. Even the Bible, in Genesis, says that the Spirit fills the body when the first breath is taken.

Being pro-choice is putting the decision in the hands of the woman who's life and body is affected instead of in the hands of the state.

I think the best way for the state to decrease the number of abortions is to do things to decrease the number of unwanted pregnancies from being started and to give the right kind of support to those who have an unwanted pregnancy. These things were happening under Clinton, when there were big drops in abortion. That trend reversed under Bush, with increases in abortions.

If my mother aborted me, then i wouldnt be here to argue about it would i. If my mother had good reasons to abort me, then fine. If my mother was raped for example, then id rather be an aborted fetus than a produce of a shameful act upon my mother. Some people say Hitler was a homosexual, are you saying homosexuals are wrong too just because Hitler had his tendancies? Were talking about the actual act, not the people who get it done. And if you dont want an abortion fair enough, but it should be available to people who do want them ortherwise they'd be a hell of alot more illegal unsafe abortions.

I'm so pro-choice.

Pro-choice because it is not the governments place to tell a person what they can and cannot do with their body. Also, it is not anybody else's business either. Against abortion, don't have one and in the mean time mind your own business.

If you or I had been aborted, then we wouldn't know any different now would we. That argument is stupid. If Reagan had started WWIII we would not be here today. gone. dead. Well, he didn't and we are here. Our mothers didn't abort us and we are here.

I assume by your question you are Conservative and obviously Anti-Choice (I won't use the term "Pro-Life" because Cons only care about the baby until it's born then they couldn't care less about it's life, so let's call it what it is).

And you don't agree with abortion.

You, as Republicans, had control of the White House, (The Executive Branch), Both Houses of Congress (Legislative Branch) AND, because of Bush's appointments to the Supreme Court, they are mostly Republican as well (Judicial) for the past SIX YEARS. For SIX YEARS Republicans controlled all Three Branches of the most powerful governing body on the face of the planet.

And did NOTHING. Didn't abolish abortion, didn't introduce a Constitutional Amendment banning Gay Marriage, Flag Burning OR a Balanced Budget (Remember Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America"?) Amendment, didn't outlaw Stem Cell research, didn't build any new prisons, didn't fix Social Security, haven't helped seniors with prescription drug costs, didn't balance the budget and DIDN'T BRING OSAMA BIN LADEN TO JUSTICE.

Why are you asking US questions? Why aren't you asking the people you elected to fix those things you hired them fix, the things they SAID rthey would fix? They had 6 years where Dems could do NOTHING to stop them, they could do anything and they chose listening to your phone calls and reading your emails. They had all these other burning issues you only hear Repubs talk about at election, no other, and completely ignored them. Why arent you asking your Republicans what happened? Why did you waste 6 years?

pro-choice...

The Issue: The tragedies caused by unplanned, unwanted pregnancies are aggravated and sometimes created by government policies of censorship, restriction, regulation and prohibition.
Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on both sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.

The Principle: Individual rights should not be denied nor abridged on the basis of sex, age, dependency, or location. Taxpayers should not be forced to pay for other people's abortions, nor should any government or individual force a woman to have an abortion. It is the right and obligation of the pregnant woman regardless of age, not the state, to decide the desirability or appropriateness of prenatal testing, Caesarean births, fetal surgery, voluntary surrogacy arrangements and/or home births.

Solutions: We oppose government actions that either compel or prohibit abortion, sterilization or any other form of birth control. Specifically we condemn the practice of forced sterilization of welfare recipients, or of mentally retarded or "genetically defective" individual. We support the voluntary exchange of goods, services or information regarding human sexuality, reproduction, birth control or related medical or biological technologies. We oppose government laws and policies that restrict the opportunity to choose alternatives to abortion.

Transitional Action: We support an end to all subsidies for childbearing or child prevention built into our present laws.

Yes, because women should have the right to terminate there pregnancy safely with out any government or personal intervention and it shouldn't be just about an abnormality or murder.

If abortion is made illegal, women might still go to unsafe means of terminating there pregnancy, and thus put there own lives at greater danger, to say nothing about the unborn.

I am neither because I don't care. If I had to pick one I would be neither still. Unless this effects me at some point in my life I don't care. I am sick of this being a political issue when it is clearly that of a legal one. I bet you base your total vote on what a candidates stand on abortion is even though they have no control over it at all. Why not start worrying about the kids that are born and live in poverty and die of disease and starvation. That is the real killing that goes on.
