It seems to me that Hillary is actually quite moderate yet there are so many people talking about her as a Marxist. People will talk about Bill Clinton and his "immoral" behavior, but that wasn't Hillary she was the one who was cheated on.

Why does she make so many people angry? Is it primarily because she is female?

Most of your replies are going to say "she is a socialist" or "she is a marxist". If you ask to give them an example of a socialist or marxist proposal she has made all they will point to is the Clinton Health Care plan. They don't even realize that the Clinton plan would have utilized mainly private health insurance companies and incentives for private businesses to fund insurance for all working people. It would have maintained medicare and had some bit of government spending to cover anyone who was not covered by those plans.

Doesn't sound like marxism to me.

The fact that she is a strong and assertive woman and they feel threatened, is part of it. A bigger thing is that for years the conservatives have been defining liberals. Candidates like Mondale, Dukakis, and Kerry have lost basically by swift boat lies and inventing the Internet hoaxes. Every now and then a candidate like Bill or Hillary Clinton comes along and calls the Neocons on their bs. This drives them crazy. So basically the reason cons hate Hillary is because she doesn't take their crap.

Early in the Clinton Presidency (soon, we'll have to start saying "First Clinton Presidency") she championed a Universal Health Care plan, once it was opened to debate, it turned out to be very unpopular - in particular, it was criticised as 'Socialist.'

That label has stuck, even though Hillary's positions, overall, tend to be quite pragmatic.

Conservatives hate Hillary Clinton because she is powerful, from the opposing party, a leading candidate for president, and tied to a former president who is enjoying a resurgence of sentimental popularity.

The greater the threat somebody poses, the harder you have to attack them by whatever means available. Don't get distracted by the specific posturing - it's not really that important.

There is something visceral about the conservative hatred for the Clinton's. It is border line unhealthy.

What is funny is that they seem ready to support Rudy Giuliani for President in order to defeat her. Rudy by the way is a democrat no matter what he says( He is pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro gay marriage and pro-transvestite) So they are ready to throw away their party principals on defeating her

In his book Bill Clinton says that he at least has had this problem all his life that people either loved him or hated him.

It strikes me as very unhealthy on the part of the haters

They are afraid that if she gets power she will seek revenge upon them for all the hatred, smears and everything else they've dumped upon her over the course of her public life.
So in reality what they really fear is what their own actions may bring about.

They call her a Socialist but not one has ever proven that. They are scared to death of her because they know she actually has the best chance of any of those running to be elected. That means that they no longer can shove their narrow agenda of support for the wealthy, no health care for everyone and a desire for Ur Fascism down our throats.

Because Hillary Clinton is a full-on, hardcore, raging socialist.

Yahoo News:

"Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it’s time to replace an “on your own” society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an “ownership society” really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.”I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

“There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed,” she said.

***“Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”****

That line gives me shivers up my spine, and not in a good way. Hillary Clinton isn't moderate. She's moderated herself since running for the Senate because she knew she was going after the presidency in '08.

And no, I don't support Rudy Guiliani. He's a little authoritarian, too. Gun control? Yeah right. See you in hell, Rudy.

I'm a woman who runs her own business, has employees (mostly male) and am certainly not threatened by another strong woman. I simply don't like what she represents. I'm far from being rich and a long ways away from representing that upper one or two percent that we hear and read so much about, but I am a staunch believer that we should make it on our own if we're capable.

Hillary doesn't 'scare' me. Her programs scare me. :)
