Why does Indian official only try to appoint a foreign coach for the team
do we have shortage of talented Indian people in the country or BCCI just doesnt trust the coaching skills of indians
why they dont consider some young indian coach, such as srinath, manjerekar etc for the job

I am also surprised that the BCCI is searching for a foriegn coach. They could look for a coach that has played for India in the past such as Gavasker, Sandeep Patil and Ravi Shastri.

Possible Indian coach is David Whatmore.
They try to appoint a foreign coach for the team because all the reams do so.
India or BCCI don't have shortage of talented people but just they need a certified experienced person.
Srinath,Manjrekar are OK for commentrator because they have not got that ability like Ravi Shastri.
In other sense the Indian citizens are also responsible.Example-Chappel's resign.

My Brother, why not? You have to understand one thing. Australians have the sportsmen spirit and they are intelligent and humble persons. Like any other good team Australians too value all those good qualities that any good COACH should have. My friend, what happened at that match between HARBHAJAN and the AUSTRALIAN PLAYER was a sad thing. It should not let the peace and harmony between the two countries be hampered by our wrong perceptions and assumptions. Australians are friendly people like people of all other nations. If it had been otherwise then how did it so happen that so many Indians are residing in AUSTRALIA having a job or bussiness there? Thus differences that arise in the mind should not be allowed to be reflected in the heart. Have a nice day.

I thhink BCCI is "trying" to search for foreign coach just to impress the media and fans.... I think some rich and politically strong indian is gonna get the job in the end.... by searching for foreign coaches the media and fans will be happy that BCCI is doing a "serious" work when they are not.....

I think Sandeep Patil maybe the best choice but BCCI will find some foreigner for sure. There is a fellow (in county cricket in England) who has coached South Africa is a front runner at the moment.

I am also surprised as to why BCCI are hunting for a foreign coach instead of giving chance to Indian stalwarts like Sandeep Patil, Mohinder Amernath etc.
