I guess with any organization/community there are opportunities for corruption, but within the medical community it seems there are more opportunities than others. The reason being people are willing to pay a very high price to keep their lives/health. I would like to get other opinions though.

I think Hospitals are ran more like businesses anymore than a place to save your life. They are worried more about profit than making a difference. Although I guess if a Hospital was constantly in debt, then tax money would be the only thing paying the workers and keeping the hospital to date.

Although I can also say a Hospital recently saved my fathers life, and I have no gripes with them. Maybe corrupt, but hes living and thats what matters to me.

I do not think the medical professionals are corrupt, I think they are over worked because of the at least 20 million illegals here that gets their health care for free, and this by itself is why we, the taxpayer have to pay higher medical insurance for our own self. And no, I do not think we would benefits in a national health care scam, as politicans that are pushing this, you can bet will be a silent partner and making millions, as usual. And we will still get short changed.

The medical community will get no less inefficient or corrupt if the government socializes medicine through universal healthcare.

Not really. Think about it. Doctors go into hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt to get through med school. Their fees keep their practices afloat, pay their student loans, and support their families.

Now, universal health care WILL make medicine sub-par and corrupt.

Yep.

Not that getting the government involved will make it any better.
