IMHO, L'Oreal & Max Factor make the best mascaras.
For eye shadow, consider L'Oreal, Revlon, NYX cosmetics or any dept. store brand.
Haven't found the ideal eyeliner myself yet.

hahaa.this is a perfect question for me.i get called emo and stuff alot cause i do the smokey eyes thing.
i use mary-kay eyeliner.yes its kind of expensive at like $11 dollars a stick but it lasts pretty long and it doesnt smeer easily.
i use maybeline (or however you spell) it mascara.
1)line your bottom lid,but go a little past your eyelashes.
then use a soft eye sponge to kinda smudge it.
2)then line your top lid.using the sponge to smudge it a little too.
3)then just put the mascara on your top and bottom eyelashes.
(if you want a little more black or grey than just eyeliner and mascara,get some dark grey eyeshadow and put it on your eyelid and line your eyeliner with it too if you know what i mean)

To get the smokey eyes look you can use eye liner pencil and black eye shadow.
Put on the eye shadow and the eye liner and smudge it lightly.
Try not to put to much or you may look like a racoon teheh :)

use a highlighter on your brow bone.
right under the brow bone use a light silver eyeshadow.
On the eyelid . . . use black eyeshadow on the outside half of the eye, and other half of the eyelid use a dark charcoal eyeshadow.
Use liquid black eyeliner.
And volume enhancing dark black mascara.

quick way is to get boyfriend to hit you in eyes .......lol . best to go into local large store "boots " etc they will do a free make up demo and advice on the right colour's that suit you. and how to start putting them on, your come home a pro,,,,,,, good luck
