I just want to make sure my bearded dragon is pooping a normal amount of times. While I'm on the subject, she's quite a picky eater and wont usually climb down to eat her food until around noonish, and even then she just nibbles at it. Is there any way of improving her appettite? Thanks all, for your poop and food suggestions.

My beardie is about four years old. I got her at the end of March from a guy that couldn't keep her. I give her crickets three times a week and am sure to give her a varied diet. She recently got over having coccidia...perhaps this is a contributor? Her last BM was Friday and today is Tuesday. The last two poops she had were in the middle of a bath. Hope this additional info can shed more light on the subject.

Wow I just had that problem with one of my beardies. I think if yours isn't eating as much then it's not going to have a BM as much, and if it's not eating as much try checking the temp. in it's cage, mine was too cold. Now it's mad at me cause I put a heater under it's cage, right where he always goes to hide and sleep, and freeze, so now he wont go in his cave... but he's eating better, and staying warmer! If it is constipation I've heard warm soaks can loosen them up, cause it stimulates their bowels. Mine have decided many times to make me clean out the bathroom sink after soaking them ;-) Rule of thumb... whatever goes in must come out, so as long as it stays proportionate (more food = more poop) I wouldn't worry about the BM's so much... just the eating. If they're eating a lot and not having BM's then I would worry. Try Kale mine love Kale, and raspberries (but not too many raspberries cause I've heard they're not too nutritional), but they LOVE them! Mine just bit my toe today because it thought it was a raspberry, I just painted my toenails red :-), mine seem to like yellow squash and carrots too. Good luck though! If you get her eating then the rest will come.

You don't mention the age/size, it probably means she's full grown so her intake is not as great as it was, if she's not you need to variate the food a little more and give her more protein, locusts, crickets meal worms etc if that's what shes turning her nose up at then give her more plant material to eat. She is not going to climb down to eat until her temperature is correct, she will not be able to digest properly if the temp is incorrect, if she does eat and the temp is wrong again she isn't going to process the food well and this could cause her to bind up. (constipation)

Poop wise mine does it about every other day however, he's now in the habit of doing it just after his morning bath or during it.
