1. Because there is more money being made in selling products which don't cure baldness, but make vain men think that they are regrowing hair. Once you cure it, the market dies. The remedy for baldness is for these men to accept reality, and stop deluding themselves.
2.There is a better chance in reaching Mars than curing baldness, and it is cheaper.

There is a remedy, but it would involve applying feminine hormones.
What would you rather develop breasts or go bald?
Hey, bald is cool now - if you are badly losing your hair, take it all off. Nothing looks worse than partial baldness.

You're question should be... if We can invent technology to reach Mars to explore and report....why the hell can't we invent a vehicle that is not oil dependant and will not break down after 100,000 miles.
