Why does NFL even keep these thugish, criminals around?? it does not make any sense... and they have the odasity to APPEAL??? man they should be thrown outta the league... suspend their contracts... and send thier a$$ back to the projects, where they BELONG.

Simply because they are talented players. Why do big name movie producers or record labels hire drug using, washed up, or hip hop wanna-be gangsters? Because they have talent, and people want to see them.
Also you should realize that NFL celebrities get away with much more - most of which is not even published in the newspaper. It's simply the lifestyles of the rich and the famous.

The reason is one thing: Money.
The NFL is a business and the players that you mentioned along with Chris Henry, Ray Lewis, and all the other criminals in the NFL bring their respective teams and the NFL itself lots of revenue.
The thing is it's really us as fans that allow these people to continue to play. If we would stop buying their jerseys, hats, and other merchandise, stop buying tickets to their games, and stop watching them on TV, they would not be making money and would have to stop employing them.
It's in our hands, the same with movie stars, musicians, and any other celebrity. If we stop paying so much to make them famous, they won't be able to get paid as much.

Because they are all good players, they have contracts with them, and they hope they will straighten up. Not that I would want them on my team, I wouldn't.

They're celebs, they have the money to get their way out of anything they do. Like one person said previously, if we stop buying their jerseys, we'll be robbing them of money and they'd have to let them go.
