Even at this late stage, these grown women are trying to get to her. The company is being revamped so a lot of them are taking redundancy or being transferred. Even now this woman(the ringleader) in particular just cant help herself and is trying to cause more misery on my friend. The staff have traditions of leaving do's etc & this woman has managed to
exclude my friend from doing her bit & in the process making her look bad/miserly. 3 women (including my friend) are all leaving within a few days of each other & the normal practise is to have a joint do at a local bar & all 3 to put money behind the bar to buy everyone a drink. This woman decided she would have her own "do" then joined forces with the other girl & they have also arranged a buffet lunch in the office. My friend has not being invited to participate, only to attend. I think she shouldnt show it bothers her but i want her to be able to do something to annoy this woman & her posse but in a dignified way.

I feel its really important to do something as my friend has endured years of this and it has affected her a lot and made her working life a misery.

People like this don't listen or learn, so if you say or do something, you'll end up frustrated and more angry. The only thing you can do to fight is report it to the boss, to her boss. Other than that, your friend should just move on. Why would she want to go on a night out or whatever with people like that anyway? Wouldn't you prefer to just leave?

i think you should talk to her in front of everyone (very calmly ) but so theres wittnesses and everyone knows you're just confronting her ... this is what to say .. ok i'm not sure what going on between you and my friend but i really thing that after all these year of being rather unkind you could spend one day in your life being nicer to her because all this time you've been rather harsh to her and seeing as its her last day i think she should be able to help too
just make it as though your concerned and it doesnt really bother your friend otherwise it makes your friend look petty
good luck

You should be assertive. Say, "Hey, you! I can't beleive what a low level you must be at to treat my friend this way. She is a wonderful person and you will get what's coming if you continue this treatment of her." Ignore the reaction and walk away.

She just needs to invite any that she likes to go out for lunch or drinks and let it be known that invitation only and if not invited you can ask to be. This way it is just her friends and not others.

Why don't you ..and your friend...miss this get together and go have a get together elsewhere..someplace better. Invite the others but not the ring leader. Stand by your friend. Let this ring leader know that she isn't worth your friends time..nor yours. Good Luck!

it seems that these days the only way to victory against these type of people is to fight as they do. find a weakness about them, e.g. something from their past, bullies think that there superior to others, as soon as you find something wrong with them, they soon realise how big they are!!! (rumours is a good start!!!) good luck
