Well if it's physical then of course eat right and maybe some exercise. If it's mental then hang with your friends, talk things out with someone you trust,do a hobby that makes you feel like your accomplishing something and pamper yourself.Dress up pretty and go out with friends .Do something that makes you feel good.Volunteer somewhere that you feel could use you and your talents.

1. Read the Bible. It's a great source of strength for me, and it should for you. So many great quotes come from it, or are a result from it. One of my favourite verses is from Jeremiah 29:11. It says...
I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Isn't it great knowing that our Heavenly Father has got our back through thick or thin?!
2. Eat. Chances are you might be hungry. Treat yourself to something nutritious and tasty like a banana, mango, peach, strawberry, or pineapple. Or dulge into something tantilizingly sweet and tempting like fudge, apple pie, or ice cream (I prefer gelato).
3. Get some exercise. Run around. Lift weights. Tae-Bo, even. Get yourself moving so that your head is pumping with blood and not with thoughts of doubt, trouble and despair.
4. Call a friend or family member. Nothing cheers you up like reaching out and touching someone. They can give you advice, or just be that ear that you want to talk/cry/scream into.
5. Be an author. Write how you are feeling. Diaries are good for this. Perhaps you can wax some poetics and write a poem based on how you feel. Writing (or typing, like what I am doing) helps rid the mind of any toxins that want to resonnate the logical side of you towards doing something irrational.
Get charged! Fill yourself up!

I just remind myself that you can't be happy all the time that it would be boring if there wasn't down moments in life. Plus, when I feel empty, I remind myself about how great it will feel when I feel charged again.
I think it's called using the cognitive psychological approach.

Well if it is because of depression I just lay in bed and be sad and talk myself out of it! If it is because I am hungry then I make myself something to eat!

For some strange reason I will go to the store and buy a bunch of meats, take them home and barbque them, then just provide a main course for some of my neighbors and this makes me feel better inside.

I pray. God is always there to listen, and afterward I feel more connected to the world again.
