I think that Doctor Death should help other Doctors who wish to engage in assisted suicide. Jack Kevorkian's role now will be to continue educating society on the importance of allowing assisted suicide as an acceptable end-of-life choice.

Well, I hope that if I become terminally ill and there is no hope that there will be someone I can ask to help me end the suffering and pain before I become unable to control my destiny.
There is a difference between murdering someone and helping the ill pass with dignity and what little grace they have left.

GRRRRR!!
I have so much I wish I could say on this----pro & con!!
But I'm a hospice nurse, & I love my job, so I can't give an opinion one way or the other.
I will, however, encourage people to educate themselves on end of life issues. Find out all you can about terminal illness, then make an educated decision!

Yes I do 100%...I work for Hospice which involves taking care of people in their last moments of life and let me you tell you I have seen too many people suffer because of an illness they have and they want to die. Why prolong it for people dying and their families. We put animals down when they are sick, why shouldn't people have that same choice. To know when they are going to pass, so their last moments can be more peaceful ones with their loved ones, instead of agnoizing pain and distress....

confident. it incredibly is basic for those people who don't have a painful terminal ailment and do have a colourful life form to sit down down returned and say what Dr. Kervorkian is doing is erroneous, yet might you experience the comparable way in case you had a painful terminal ailment, and have been a "vegetable"? i do no longer think of so.

Yes he should. Anyone who has lived with or loved someone who has died of a chronic disease such as cancer or whatever should be able to go. It just isn't fair to suffer when there is a way to out.

I believe people should have the choice whether to prolong life once diagnosed with a terminal illness. I believe should they choose not to prolong their own life, than resources should be available.

Jack Kevorkian is not a monster. He is a humanitarian. Helping those who know they are on their painful path to death is honorable.
A salute to you, Jack.

Of course, everyone should have the ability to die in dignity rather than hooked up to a machine to wither away.

Touchy subject, I'm not going to say much. I think what he was doing was right, people who were in misery and were suffering deserved to not go through it. People have the right to Life, Liberty, and Property. Their body is their property, they have the liberty to do what they want with their life.
