Sure enough ther it was a garden snake about 15 in. long. My nerves are bad now and I am drinking beer. Does antone have anything to say that might help me calm my nerves?

I agree with you Preacher.
Cowardly to kill the snake, and cowardly to have to drink beer to deal with it.
BTW, no such thing as a "garden" snake!

Drink up, killer! Once again an animal that did nothing wrong gets wasted for daring to live on the same planet as the mighty swimmer. Too bad it wasn't a water moccasin, then it might have been able to give you something in return. Maybe next time. Sleep tight!

I would be drinking something stronger than a beer or I might have drowned when I saw the snake! Your brave that's for sure.

A garden snake isn't going to hurt you. Now where I am there are alligators in peoples pools!!! Look before you jump!

If it bit you I would see a doctor. Otherwise I would just drink a few beers and relax. Don't worry about it. That kind of thing happens everday. Just inspect your pool from now on before getting in.

Garden snakes aren't dangerous. You probably could've just picked ut up and released it in some bushes.
I feel more sorry for the snake than you.
