This is not a question of what we win when we defeat the enemy in Iraq. To demean the sacrifice of our young men and women willing to fight for a cause by say it is for oil, land or strategic military placement does them a disservice. These soldiers know why they are over there. They know that at anytime, they will have to make that ultimate sacrifice to save not only their buddies in arms, but also the innocent civilians targeted by the so-called insurgents. This is a tough war that the media has tried to report all the bad, but leaves out much of the good our American soldiers have accomplished. Our soldiers did not volunteer for the service for monetary gain. The did it because they felt it was their patriotic duty to do so. They also went in knowing that they have become the property of the U.S. government and military. With that, they know and voluntarily so, have become expendable. The quicker many of you naysayer realize that, the better you will be about cheering for those fighting for the freedom of others. Like the remaining survivors of D-Day have said, "we just had a job to do." These young men and women also know, they have a tough job to do.

We need a whole new party that has the people's interests at heart and not just big business. I think we would benefit by putting caps on the amount of money anyone entity can donate to politician and that should not be in the millions it should maybe be in the mid to low thousands. That way the politician is not so apt to vote to benefit corporations and remains more in touch with his constituents. I do not believe our forefathers foresaw this problem with the system they created.

Not a freaking thing. It will never be a democracy that others will want to emulate. Iran, a much bigger threat, will be more powerful. We've already created a whole new wave of terrorists across the world. Our image has already been tarnished.

It is not winable. No benefits, just a destined civil war among factions. Defense contracts have been the most profitable results.

Mostly geostrategic advantages of being able to militarily dominate the middle east and much of the world's oil. Mostly just a way to try to contain and surround Russia and China. Not to mention access to emerging markets.

nothing worth the death of so many soldiers.
I guess we may get oil from them but thats about it, which we don't desperatly need cuz u.s has oil reserves in alaska anyway i guess they're waiting till the rest of the world runs dry.
but in the end all we win is a bunch of poor dead soldiers .
its pretty said that were doin all this for oil
