Wait wait wait.. Samoa isn't producing all those Samoan wrestlers you're talking about. About 80% of them come from one multi generational family in California. Don't know Joe's story but

Afa, Sika, Yokozuna, Samu, The Rock, Rikishi, Umaga, Jimmy Snuka, Jimmy snuka jr( adopted known as Deuce), Rosey, Peter Maivia and Peter Jr, all come from this same family
Supposedly Coco Samoa was a distant cousin as well.

More like the Bay Area produces a lot of Samoan wrestlers..

Samoa isn't "producing" so many well-known people because it is so small, but because many of the Polynesian islands are known for people that are of good size and very athletic. India could be twice its size and that wouldn't make the people living there any larger (not to say that they don't have any large or athletic people).

i think the key word for the answer is produce, people in samoa like to produce too many people and it just so happens that many of them are wrestlers. and as you have mentioned, samoa is a small place, almost all of the samoan wrestlers are relatives, like rock, umaga, yokuzuna and many more.

Two reasons: 1. Most Samoans speak English. 2. Samoans are naturally big people and Indians are not.

People chose to live in different places and maybe there are many large family trees in Somoa. Maybe Somoa's food and habitat affects their health, weight, and height as well, which leads to bigger bodies who chose to wrestle.
