Why dont you are attempting shrinking the photographs in a application including paint and then saving them. you could then positioned them on myspace. this may well be a loose and speedy way and you will no longer get a virulent disease. This does many times artwork for shrinking photographs and the customary could be the same!

I don't know the different file types, but in general there are multiple ways to save a file. For photos I know the smallest way to save them is through a JPEG file, not a GIF file. For technical instruction on how to do all types of files, go to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190757.aspx

I don't know about mp3's, but for photos, I use photoshop.
I did find this on the internet though:
http://www.autoimager.com/
http://picasa.google.com/
you could also check out CNET for any shareware programs that might be able to do this for you.

generally, you could "shrink" file size be compressing it....... .zip, .rar, .gzip, .tar, 7zip.....etc.
on top of my head now, I think 7zip is open source...and you could download it for free. Install and you could compress any type of files that you want to.....(though, if its a .mp3, you won't notice a difference)
