if you mean the French and Indian WarS...not just the 7 year conflict that ended with Wolfe beating Montcalm outside Quebec City

1) it was a hundred year conflict that could have gone either way any number of times

2) the Indians got used as surrogates and pawns by the Brits and the French

3) The American colonists developed a hundred years of war fighting skills and a sense of identity and a sense that the interests of the 13 colonies weren't the same as what was being decided in London; with the French gone from North America and the Indians quiet,,,,,,ie the big threat removed, less than 10 years later it was " In Congress Assembled...." in Philadelphia

After they ended, the French lost all its assets in the New World. The French and Indians won most of the battles, but lost key storongholds like Montreal. The French were outnumbered greatly throughout the entire war.
