Absolutely, you can serve pizza. I think finger foods like deviled eggs, finger sandwiches, cheese slices and cold cuts, and that sort of thing are the most common baby shower fare, but I've been to showers where they had just pizza, punch, and cake!
Here is a great page with lots of suggestions for themes, food, games, and decorations. Check it out.

Well I didn't have mine yet. But don't serve meals. There will be too many people. Just serve like little snacks like tea sandwiches. Also try chocolate covered pretzels and strawberrys. For drinks put out some wine and water and maybe some coffee. Congratulations and hope you have a good shower!

I just gave my sister a baby shower, and I did a whole Mexican food buffet. Carne asada, chicken, beans, rice, tortillas, enchiladas, etc. Everyone was happy with the selection. I think that pizza is not a good idea. It sort of gives off the impression that you're not putting much effort into the shower.

You can serve pizza if you want. And yes, you can eat, no need to get a doctor's ok. Just don't go eating pizza every day. lol You can also serve those small colored mints, or finger sandwiches, or whatever you want really. :) Just have fun with it.

Well with everyone so Weight conscienous today then I would suggest a FRUIT platter, Cheese and Cracker platter...and mini sandwiches. Plus you are going to have Cake so you don't want anyone to feel guilty.
LOL...just be sure to have enough to fill every one...but if you really want pizza then go ahead, get a large sheet and cut it up when you get home for finger foods! LOL

My friends served me pizza and pasta salad and jello cake at my baby shower. I loved it!!
It doesn't have to be finger sandwiches, cold veggies and other dainty dishes at all.
You could have something heavy and something light.

Depends on your type of baby shower...
For mine I would like small finger sanwiches, maybe mini tortilla roll sanwhiches, veggie/fruit trays cut in special ways and maybe on small sticks w/ a couple small bowls of different dips & cool whip, cute little deserts- small cakes, baklava, home made mints, cookies shaped like rattles, chocolate strawberries- mixed nuts, potato salad etc...
I've heard of ppl getting hot wings (not my type of shower)--- more summer bbq party, but hey, some ppl wanted kegs too.... disaster...
