The Democratic party has never been anti-religion. What a stupid thing for you to say. The Christian Right is treated like any other extremist group. I am sorry if they feel that anyone who is not an urFascist Right Wing Radical is unacceptable and see what they want of their opposition when they want to see it. (cherry picking) But the Democratic party has always valued religion. One main difference is that the Democratic party is more inclusive of all religions where the Republicans, especially those on the far right only want people to be exactly like them. Diversity is their enemy.

Ever hear of William Jennings Bryan? If you go back in history, you will find that the Democrats are traditionally more Christian than the Republicans. Depending on the candidate and the times, both parties swing back and forth as to how religious they are. It is way too simplistic to suggest that the Republicans are Christians, and the Democrats are anti-religion. That is not now and has never been true.

Everyone should be RABID about the separation of church and state. Religion belongs in the home or the church.
Where is it written that a person who supports the separation isn't a Christian?
When you grow up, you will understand it all..but, then again, maybe not.

You obviously don't get it. Just because a democratic candidate believes that no religious institution should be able to impose their beliefs on any public institution, does not mean that they don't go to church themselves. They just understand that "their" religion may not be the same as every single American's religion. I assume you're Christian but how would you like it if you were Catholic for example and a Mormon president who is also Christian imposed all their religious beliefs into the government. Understand now?

How exactly did they mock the Christian right? Got examples, proof and sites that back up your accusations? the left has always had Christian backing. Martin Luther King was left. I know many denominations of churches who are left, including many parts of the Catholic church. What makes you think that Jesus was right wing? What makes you think we should be a theocracy? What makes you think God talks to the GOP?
Why do people, including Christians have to wear their faith on their sleeves to prove to you their beliefs? I thought Christ was a personal God and Saviour. If he is personal, why do people have to advertize it?
Why do you people pose a question that sounds like if you are for the Constitution then you are against Jesus and Christianity?

One can be a good true Christain and be for separation of chruch and state.
Those who want to run the country through religion has to look at what happened to England in the middle ages and what HAS been happening in the middle east since BUSH took over.

Why is it imcompatable for a person to be a christian, but also support the constitution at the same time, you know that same seperation protects your children from being taught religions that you dont agree with.

Do you realise that there's a BIG difference between having faith in God and wanting to impose that on others via the government? Lots of religious people fervently support separation of church and state.

Church and state should never go together no matter what party you support. If there is a God, I'm pretty sure he doesn't like greedy conservatives. I don't and I'm not even half as powerful as God....ok, bye.
