He is a small tortoise. He had a cage but the cats broke it. It needs a lid that slides off so we can put his heating lamps on it, and be able to take off the lid to feed him. He likes lots of room, and its too cold for him to live outside. Inside, he is in a small area, and there is nowhere else to put his cage! Please help, he's living in the bathtub for now. Thanks!

He is pretty little, but he likes to move around A LOT, so a container of any sort wouldn't work. It needs to be some sort of actual big cage. Thanks SO much!

Try a 'tortoise table', like this: http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/Tortoisetable.htm

If the tortoise is under about 4" long, you can keep it in a large plastic tub, like this: http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/hatchouse.htm

Building a new cage for your tortoise would be the best, that way you could make it with your own requirements in mind. Good luck!

I'm not sure how big he is, but a large rubbermade container works well - like the kind that goes under your bed.
