I sometimes receive email with pictures or video in the email and not as attachments. How do you do that so they are part of the message. I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 I've tried to paste but they end up as attachments

thanks all for your answers.
tried insert in outlook and sent it to myself at diff, addresses and they were not embedded in the message but went as attachments and had to be opened seperately except at hotmail which was embedded but then i forwarded it to my outlook address and it came as an attachment
My cousin who is plenty smart but no computer wiz, sends me pics and video that she takes around the world and they always open right in the body of her message.
and i'm not clear on the upload/download to/from another site as to how that would embed a picture of whatever from a jpg or other type file on my pc in my outlook message I know that i could use other photo software to send the pics

In Outlook

Click Insert
Click Picture
Click From File
Select your picture and click OK

This will embed the picture in the message body.

From your latest comments, it seems to me that your problem is not sending the embeded image, but receiving it in your email. Did you test sending it to a Yahoo account besides Hotmail? if you also are able to see the images in yahoo, then it must be something with how outlook receives email.

Make sure your Outlook is not set to block from automatically downloading images. This is a security measure that helps prevent junk email.

Honestly, I don't recommend you remove this security feature from your Outlook.

As for why your cousin's emails appear with pictures included, it might be because her email address is in your safe senders list. To check this, go to Tools - Options, click on the Preferences tab. Go to E-Mail and click junk email. Click the Safe Senders tab. You can set safe senders there.

Other than that, I am out of ideas for now. If i find out more, I will come back and post it.

Cheers :)

You could upload them to a site such as photobucket. Which is an image hosting site.

Or, if you're meaning the actual file, then you could upload them to a place such as megaupload which will provide you with a link you can download your picture files from.

Just click "Insert". Brows to the pic that you want to insert and select it and then click ok. That should do it.

I believe the sound must be in .wav form.
