i really dont see why its such a big problem? almost everyone i know saids cali (n they dont all live where im from)

thank you to all the nice people out there damn im going to have a hard time picking the best answer now lol!!! ok then im from minnesota (but i would love to live in "california" n someday i will and i will call it cali) so what do you say bout minnesota people??

I don't see it as a problem. Why would some one hate it? I was born and raised here and I have used that term myself on yahoo answers......and........well to think about it. I did get a couple thumbs down. But oh well.....to each his own.

Eh, I grew up in California and left when I was 24. The only people that I ever heard call the state "cali" were people who were on vacation there and weren't from that state.
I raise an eyebrow because I've never heard a native say "cali", and nobody I grew up with ever said that. Reason? That's not the name of the state they're trying to refer to. It's that simple.

I've lived here all my life, born & raised and the only person I've ever heard say "Cali" is the governator, he says "Cali-fornia." and it doesn't bother me either..however you say it , it's California, where everyone wants to be!!

i live in los angeles, and am from nor cal. we all say cali. i have never heard of anybody saying that they hate it being refered to that. i have heard people say that they hate when we say "hella" and i think that is hella weak.
