I live in Washington State near Spokane. I am also close to Cour D' Alene Idaho. I like where I live. Housing prices are good. the people are friendly and we have 4 seasons. We do get snow in Winter, Sun in Summer and in Spring and Fall we have warm days and cool nights. I moved here from California almost 2 years ago and I am happy I did. There is lots of different things to do in your spare time. There are lots of different lakes and rivers for fishing or boating, game animals for hunting. I find the neighbors friendly ans wiling to give a hand when it is needed. Here where I am we do NOT have a lot of traffic . it is very quiet also. Last 4th of July we had 3 deer come into our yard, go into our waterfall and get a drink of water, There were 15 people on our back deck watching them, my daughter in law went into the house got a camera and took their picture.
If you want to be happy with where you live, may I suggest Washington State.

Issaquah, Washington here - about 15 miles east of Seattle on I-90. Nice town as long as you stay away from the Yuppies on the plateau ;-) I'm south of the old downtown, and love all the trees, and Tiger Mountain!

I spent most of the first 20 years of my life in Vancouver, Washington. It rains entirely too much but it's gorgeously green there as a result. I had to move away to appreciate that! I miss winter storms at the beach and the smell of evergreens in the back yard. I love where I live now, but I'd take back the rain and green goodness of the Pacific NW in a heartbeat!
