Rep. Robert Bauman (R-Md.), homophobic founder of Young Americans for Freedom and the American Conservative Union, and a member of the Christian Coalition, lost his House seat in 1980 after disclosures that he solicited sex with a 16-year-old gay male. Donald Lukens (R-Ohio) was sentenced to jail for having sex with a minor.
Here is a list of "family values" Republicans who committed adultery:
Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill.), and former Rep. Bob Barr (R-Ga.), who were leaders of the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton; Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kansas); former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.); former Rep. Bob Livingston (R-La.), Rep. Don Sherwood (R-Pa.), who had a five-year extramarital affair with a woman 35 years his junior and who later accused him of repeated assaults; and former Rep. Helen Chenoweth (R-Idaho), who told the Spokane Spokesman-Review that God pardoned her sins.

Yes, there are "bad apples in both" but that does not remotely answer the question.
It is not liberals who have bastardized the term "family values"
It is not liberals who bring up "god" and "Jesus" in every other sentence to their followers as verification of their belonging
It is not liberals who have defied the Constitution with their illegal faith based initiatives
It is not liberals who use their god as an excuse to tell women what they can, and cannot do with their bodies
It is not liberals using religion to mask cowardly bigotry to fight against equal rights for homosexuals
It is not liberals claiming to worship a kind and compassionate god while vehemently defending the state sponsored murder of innocent minorities...23 to date.....the death penalty
It is not liberals that have used a tainted, infected, hate filled version of Christianity as a lobbying group for conservative causes
It is not liberals who hold a bible in one hand and a corporate blood stained hand in the other.
"Both have bad apples" is just more right wing blathering, trying to keep eyes off the truth.
You and yours, conservatives, have perverted your religion by turning it into a political abomination of intolerance and hate in the name of your god. How typical and dishonest of yours to try and sell the lie that there is a balance of guilt to this equation. Don't you people ever accept responsibility for your actions?

Assuming the posture that they hold the key to morality is a crucial part of their act. Never admitting you are wrong and pointing the finger at others, while you are guilty of far worse crimes, is integral to their self righteous facade. They have hidden behind Christianity while they plunder, lie and strive to rule all, utterly and completely.

A thumbs-up to suthrnlyts2004.
She and I don't always agree, but she's got the integrity to admit that corruption is on both sides of the fence.
I submit that there is an overabundance of conservative mud-slinging and slurs, suggesting that Democrats are somehow a bunch of low-lifes and perverts. But, what can you expect from trolls, eh?
Why can't we all just admit that power attracts corruption like rotten meat attracts flies?
It's virtually impossible to have THAT much power and money up for grabs and not be seduced by it; I don't care WHAT party you belong to. I just wish the conservative trolls (and you know who you are) would get off the BS like they are the "morality" party.
Just like Glenn Frey says in "Smuggler's Blues"
"The pay offs and the rip offs,
And the things nobody saw."
"It's the lure of easy money,
It's gotta very strong appeal."
"It's propping up the governments in Columbia and Peru,
You ask any D.E.A. man,
He'll say There's nothin' we can do,
From the office of the President,
Right down to me and you."
Drugs, politics...the differences are redundant; it's the appeal of power and money.

Those individuals do not reflect the morality of the Republican party as a whole.
Besides, morality is subjective, to a degree. Every group thinks they are morally superior.

It's great camouflage. By hiding behind the shroud of morality, they can get away with all kinds of perversions, from Fu*king children to Fu*king taxpayers. I personally love how they get all indigent when first accused, then when found guilty the repent.

They are conservatives. They can't help it, I'm not a liberal but I destest those who have "holier than thou" attitude. Only Jesus is perfect, not us and to even presume we are close to perfection and morality is blasphemy in my view. Those people are hypocrites and only pander to evangelicals. The higher their attitude, the harder the fall.

Good point!
Overcompensation on their part. Talk to cover up action. Not all Conservatives, but too many.

They are hypocrites. As if starting illegal wars and illegal occupations had anything to do with Christ.
This is the party of the false prophets, they present the anti-christ image. They stand for nothing of what JESUS taught.
