Well...it depends on how you ask it.
You can probably say this and get away with it.....
"Hmm, I am not sure whether it is me or the lighting around this room but your teeth appear a little green to me."
Most elderly people would just laugh and tell you that it IS green and what happened to it.
What you shouldn't do is ask them in a way that makes them feel bad about themselves.
Imagine someone asking you the same question and how you feel about it before you ask. If you are okay with it, then ask it. If you think it is rude, then most likely they will think it is rude too.

Cookie u must be a little kid or somthing b/c I knew right away it is very rude to ask pple why there teeth are green.
They cannot help it. Yes thats gross but one day u will be old with green teeth and a rude kid will come ask u why ur teeth were green how would u feel.? Knowing me I would slap the kid who asked me that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they probably know their teeth are green so if you really want to know... ask a general question about teeth. My guess is that there was a lack of brushing but I'm sure you could have figured that out.
