I think that Moaning Myrtle in Harry Potter is a liar. She didn't really die in the bathroom because of the Basalisk. No one else ever pays attention to her, and you know how sneaky JKR can be.

1. Moaning Myrtle wears glasses, and if she had seen the Basalisk through the glasses she wouldn't have died just like that. Some say she took them off because she was crying but if she wasn't wearing them when she died they would not have shown up on her when she became a ghost.

2. She knew what Harry, Ron, and Hermione were trying to do in that bathroom all day long, but she never gave them clues or said anything about it.

3. She said that she saw a great big pair of yellow eyes by the sink, but aren't Basalisk eyes red? Yellow eyes seem more like Voldemort eyes if you ask me.

She's also sort of been forgot about, but I'm sure she will turn up again. Any comments on this??

Thanks!!!

My brother and I think that she may have been crying because she was working for Voldemort and she failed, then he came and killed her. Thats why she never leaves Hogwarts, becuase its the only place where shes safe. Just an idea.

Also its not becuase nothing was reflected bc Colin Creevy's camera was just like glasses.

I think that there is mirrors in cameras that they reflect off each other or some crap like that.
Either way looking through a camer and looking through glasses is different.

I think shes a miserable little girl who cares only about herself and what people think about her. Why would she really care to help Harry, Ron, and Hermione? Especially when she wanted Harry to live with her in her stall. Lol.

The Basalisks eyes are yellow. :)

She hasnt really been forgotten have you read the sixth book?
Moaning Myrtle played a fairly big part in one of the chapters.
In the fourth book also. Heres another link.

I don't agree. Myrtle may seem a little weird, but I think it's just her personality. Also, Harry says in GOP that Vold.'s eyes are red, so she was probably telling the truth. There could be something weird though with her death. Those glasses make me wonder . . .

Quit playing with it and give it a rest. Then give it a go again. Let it rest. Then give a go again. Repeat as necessary till the moan turns into a groan, then it will smile, roll over, and fall asleep. Hope this helps :)

Voldy's eyes were red even before he returned. So, either way...
I think that MM was too amused by what "the trio" was doing to try to stop them. Hey, a ghost is gonna get bored eventually!

ur very interesting.

i've never thought of that b4... i guess it's possible, tho.

but, lik, even JKR says herself that she sometimes loses track of all the little details, so this might b one of them. (the eye color, i mean.)

hopefully we'll find out soon enough! lol.

It seems like this is a burden you've been carrying for a long time. Do you feel better now?

if that isn't Myrtle's story what do you think is? I think you are making this a little more complicated than it actually is....
