Some setups do actually produce more light, as more than one bulb will light up. The main difference though is that the "high" beams are aimed higher. You wouldn't want to use high beams all the time because the increased hight of the light beam blinds oncoming drivers.

In many cars both dip and main beam are on when the lights are switched to main eg Citroen, VW, Peugeot etc. So on main you get double the light output. In double filament bulbs the main filament is usually higher wattage eg 60/45. In addition the other contributors are right when they refer to reflector geometry.

particular, i think you will get halogen indoor lighting fixtures furnishings - they incredibly could desire to be outstanding adequate! And maximum ceiling followers have a seventy 5 watt cut back according to fixture (so in case you get a three-mild fan, it is going to handle 225 watts entire, ot you need to use CFLs that desire much less potential. yet for my funds, the suited indoor lighting fixtures I’ve ever seen is made via a company spoke of as Solatube. They’re mild-achieving tubes that run out of your roof into whichever room(s) you decide on. They focus sunlight hours and additionally contain mild kits for after dark, yet those I’ve seen in use furnish adequate mild for interpreting even on cloudy days or previous due interior the day. the corporate even used to hold a kitchen unit which advantageous factors a vent fan. The lighting fixtures furnishings sit down flush interior the ceiling (i assume you’d call that recessed) yet are extremely easy to place in, or you may have it executed. I’d propose sorting out their internet site.

The way they are aimed? The angles on the reflective part behind the bulb? That's just a guess!

There are two filaments in one bulb.
one high, and one low.
Also, they are at different angles of projection.
